2026 Camp Sessions
SESSION 1: June 22-25
The Little Art Studio
Process Art Camp! At this camp, students will love the unstructured open-ended art experience where the joy comes from the making and doing rather than focusing on a final product. These four days will be spent playing and creating with a variety of sensory material-paint, collage, fabric, paper, recyclables, and more. No models to copy and no right or wrong way to create!
SESSION 2: June 29-July 2
The Little Sculptor Studio
As with Process Art camp, once again this camp will align with Reggio-inspired, product-free and hands-on fun! Children will be invited to shape, press, roll, stack, and transform a variety of materials. They will squeeze wet clay, carve lines with tools, build sand forms, use air-dry clay, and get their hands dirty as they explore textures, build, reshape, and build again!
SESSION 3: July 6-9
Wings and Wiggles
Flutter, crawl, hop, and buzz your way into Wings and Bugs where students explore both winged and crawling creatures around us. From listening to chirping birds in trees to busy insects in the garden, children will discover how these amazing creatures move and take part in our northwest ecosystem!
SESSION 4: July 13-16
Tide Pool
This camp is a favorite at ACB as we take advantage of the low tide in Puget Sound and our remarkable Alki Beach just one block away! This theme brings kids back to nature with amazing sensory textures like “slimy” seaweed, “bumpy” barnacles and “cold” water. Our students will discover the wonders of tide pools through hands-on play, art, music, stories, and sensory exploration!
SESSION 5: July 20-23
Castles, Knights, and Fairies
Step into a world a magical adventure of magic, bravery, and imagination! Children will travel back in the time of castles, kind kings and queens, courageous knights, and mischievous fairies who can disappear! We will build giant castles from refrigerator boxes, create shields, wands, crowns, and more. As well, we will listen to enchanting stories and fairy tales.
SESSION 6: July 27-30
The Little Brasserie
Children will be provided all the necessary items to be a successful baker! Apron, rolling pin, measuring cups, spoons, and baking sheets! As well, they will learn basic kitchen safety rules, explore textures-wet, dry, sticky, and smooth. Children will work with simple ingredients such as flour, water, salt, yeast, and a few add-ins such as sugar or spices. What happens when you add baking powder or baking soda? Each day, your camper will bring home a yummy baked item to sample.
SESSION 7: August 3-6
PRESCHOOL AGE – Super Science Sensory Camp
At this camp, children will explore the magic of science using their five senses! They’ll engage in hands-on learning through activities like touching, pouring, squishing, mixing, and discovering. This camp focuses on messy play and exciting experiments. Children will investigate concepts such as sinking and floating, cause and effect, color mixing, and more. Those who enjoy sensory tables, process art, and getting their hands dirty will love this camp!
EARLY ELEMENTARY AGE – Northwest Forest Explorers
Welcome to Northwest Forest Explorers, where children discover plant and animal life in our temperate local forests. Children will explore trees, moss, ferns, lichen, mushrooms, small forest animals, and practice learning how to read a compass and map! Campers will walk to Schmitz park this week to explore the forest right here in our city!
SESSION 8: August 10-13
Tide Pool Exploration Part II
The second lowest tide of the year is this week! We will have loads of opportunity to continue to explore tidepool animals and plants. This week will have an extra special surprise as we will dissect a squid, mussel, and clam!
